Through eligible Ohio nonprofits, the Housing Assistance Grant Program enables homeowners to stay in their homes by providing emergency home repairs and renovations for handicap accessibility.
The goal of the program is to promote affordable housing opportunities and improve housing conditions for families and individuals at or below 50% of Area Median Income, primarily through emergency home repair and limited down payment assistance.
Nonprofit agencies contract with local qualified construction companies to provide emergency home repairs and renovations for handicap accessibility projects. The nonprofits are selected through a competitive grant application process. The program has limited funding available. Grant awards are funded with Ohio Housing Trust Fund dollars.
