Regional Economic Development Directors

Chillicothe Office (Region 7)

Welcome to the Regional Economic Development Director for Southern Ohio economic development website. The ten county area serviced by this office offers affordable industrial property and a quality workforce. These attributes are a couple reasons why companies such as Glatfelter, Kenworth Trucking Company, General Mills, and Milacron are located in this region. A first class transportation network provides favorable market access. The U.S. 23 corridor runs north-to-south connecting Toledo to Portsmouth, Ohio while the James A. Rhodes Appalachian Highway (Ohio 32) runs east-to-west connecting I-275 in Cincinnati to I-77 near Belpre, Ohio.

Pike County is proud to be called the home of USEC, Inc.’s American Centrifuge uranium enrichment demonstration and commercial production plants. The $1.025 billion project will create 500 high tech jobs over the next decade and puts the spotlight on a community that has supported the uranium enrichment industry for a half-century.

Southern Ohio borders three metropolitan areas including Cincinnati, Columbus, and Huntington, West Virginia . Most communities are state priority investment areas. I hope you find the links to the regional community websites on your right helpful. Please also check out our  Southern Ohio Website .

I look forward to hearing from you.
