Ohio Third Frontier | Wright Projects (WP)
» Program Descriptions

A major goal of the Ohio Third Frontier is to build strong research capabilities and capacities in defined technology areas within the state's colleges and universities that support the needs of Ohio industry. The Wright Projects (WP) Program supports this goal primarily by providing support for capital equipment that will benefit an entrepreneurial and commercial purpose in the short term and, in the long term, will help contribute to the training and education of the current and future workforce. The WP Program encourages commercialization collaborations led by Ohio universities and colleges or other nonprofit research institutions in partnership with Ohio companies. Collaborations are formed to further the near-term commercialization of specific or platform technologies with significant, defined market opportunities. Additionally, it is expected that the physical assets associated with a project will help seed ongoing training and education activities that can grow a technically competent workforce in specific areas of focus.
