Zyvex Performance Materials
New Opportunities
In February 2009, Matt Garver joined thousands of others
in a similar situation by becoming a displaced employee
as a result of a chemical company layoff. Matt immediately
began seeking employment through temporary agencies
and numerous other employment opportunity outlets.
He sought a position where his unique skill set could be
utilized and he could continue to grow and advance in his
science and technology-related career.
Enter Zyvex Performance Materials, a Columbus-based
producer of nanotechnology-enhanced composite
materials used to improve the performance of familiar
products such as golf clubs, baseball bats, and bicycles,
as well as more high-tech applications in aerospace and
marine products. Through a temporary agency, Matt
began work in February 2009 with Zyvex. At the time,
Zyvex was not in a position to offer Matt permanent, fulltime
employment. With the help of Ohio Third Frontier
funding in April 2009, Matt was hired full-time in June as
a Laboratory Technician. The company is highly satisfied
with Matt, who it says has been an excellent addition to
the Zyvex team, assisting in the advancement of high-level
projects and aiding in next-generation technology.
