GOVERNOR, BARBASH ANNOUNCE GRANTS TO BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITIES
Projects Invigorate Regional Economies, Generate Jobs for Ohioans
“Working closely with our business community to encourage new opportunities demonstrates Ohio’s commitment to strengthening our state through targeted investments that create quality jobs for Ohioans,” Barbash said. “These investments create opportunities for Ohio to expand on our entrepreneurial strengths, enhance our competitive business environment, and support our dedicated and skilled workforce.”
Aetna, Inc. will receive a $150,000 Rapid Outreach Grant for the costs associated with leasehold improvements in support of the company’s expansion project in the Village of New Albany (Franklin County). Established in 1850 and headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, Aetna employs more than 35,000 people, offering a broad range of insurance and employee benefits. This $500,000 project is expected to create 245 positions and retain 1,340 jobs.
Rich Products Corporation will receive a $40,000 Rapid Outreach Grant for the costs associated with the purchase of machinery and equipment in support of the company’s expansion project in the City of Hilliard (Franklin County). Rich Products Corporation, founded in 1945, is a leading supplier and solutions provider to the food service, in-store bakery, and retail markets, with products ranging from desserts and toppings to seafood and bread. This $6.8 million project is expected to create 45 positions and retain 163 jobs.
Hooven Dayton Corporation will receive a $245,000 Minority Business Direct Loan for the costs associated with the acquisition of machinery and equipment in support of the company’s expansion project in the City of Dayton (Montgomery County). Hooven is a specialty label printer and manufacturer, with capabilities ranging from flexible packaging to converting solutions for a variety of industries. This more than $785,000 project is expected to create seven additional positions.
