BARBASH ANNOUNCES HOME-BASED BUSINESS WORKSHOP
Workshop Targets Entrepreneurs Over 50
 

COLUMBUS – Ohio Department of Development Interim Director Mark Barbash today announced that the Department’s Entrepreneurship and Small Business Division in partnership with Senior Outreach Services, Inc. and the Urban League of Greater Cleveland is sponsoring "The Best Way to Start a Home-Based Business  for Entrepreneurs Over 50" workshop. The workshop will be Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Senior Outreach Services, Inc. - Langston Hughes Center, 2390 East 79th Street in Cleveland, Ohio.   

"Some of Ohio’s most thriving and creative businesses are owned by entrepreneurs over the age of 50 who started off as a home-based business,"   said  Barbash. "We are committed to supporting our entrepreneurs of any age group in gaining the tools and resources they need to run a successful business of the 21st century.”  

The workshop will feature professionals from the targeted age group who will discuss best practices in the areas of marketing, accounting, finance, legal, insurance, and technology.  Representatives from Ohio’s Small Business Development Centers, Faith Community Credit Union, WECO Fund, Inc., MarCon Accounting Professionals, and the Department’s Minority Contractors and Business Assistance Program will be available to answer questions and review the realities of business ownership and the fundamentals of creating a business plan.
