COLUMBUS -- The Entrepreneurship and Small Business Division of the Ohio Department of Development is partnering with the YWCA Columbus and CheckSmart to host "The Best Way to Start a Home-Based Business for Women Entrepreneurs". The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the YWCA Columbus, 65 S. Fourth Street, Griswold Building-Fourth Floor Ballroom in Columbus, Ohio. Registration is $25.
"In today’s economy, home-based women-owned businesses continue to be a significant force, contributing to our state’s economic growth," said Mark Barbash, Interim Director of the Ohio Department of Development. "We are pleased to co-sponsor this informative workshop that will serve as an excellent tool for women interested in launching a home-based business."
The workshop will feature professional women who will discuss best practices in the areas of marketing, accounting, banking, financial literacy, legal, insurance, certification, procurement, and technology. A roundtable discussion hosted by the Governor’s Office for Women’s Initiatives will be held at 12:30 p.m. and will focus on issues that impact the lives of women such as economics, health, personal safety, and education.
