Governor Fisher, who also serves as Director of the Ohio Department of Development. “We are pleased to celebrate Ohio’s entrepreneurial heritage, honor our small business owners, and foster learning opportunities that prepare the next generation of leaders for the future.” This year’s Expo theme is “Enhancing Ohio’s Economy through Entrepreneurial Thinking.” Lt. Governor Fisher will participate in morning forums focusing on youth entrepreneurs in the 21st century as well as deliver the keynote address beginning at noon. FISHER ANNOUNCES OHIO ENTREPRENEURSHIP EXPO FEBRUARY 23
COLUMBUS -- Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher today announced the 2009 Entrepreneurship Expo on February 23 in downtown Columbus as part of National Entrepreneurship Week from February 21-28. The Entrepreneurship and Small Business Division of the Ohio Department of Development is partnering with the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education, Ohio Department of Education, and the Ohio Entrepreneurship Coalition on the weeklong recognition of entrepreneurs as well as on the Entrepreneurship Expo, which begins at 10 a.m. at the Vern Riffe Center in downtown Columbus, with registration at 9:30 a.m. The Expo is being offered at no charge for attendees.
National Entrepreneurship Week was developed in Ohio by the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education and is an annual coast-to-coast celebration of the contributions made by entrepreneurs and small business owners to our country's economy. The Entrepreneurship Expo will provide Ohio entrepreneurs, small business owners, and youth entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet with Ohio educators, associations, and government agencies to learn about the many programs and services available to help them succeed in today’s economy. There will be workshops throughout the day on topics such as Basics of a Successful Enterprise, Opportunities in Energy for Entrepreneurs, How to Get a Government Contract, and How to Select the Best Financing for Your Needs. Attendees will also be offered on a first-come, first-served basis the opportunity to get free, one-on-one counseling from an Ohio Small Business Development Certified Business Advisor®!
