COLUMBUS, Ohio (March 15, 2010) - The Ohio Department of Development's Tourism Division today released its annual 2010 Ohio Travel Planner and 2010 Spring/Summer Ohio Calendar of Events. Both publications are available free of charge through www.DiscoverOhio.com or by calling 1-800-BUCKEYE. They also may be viewed online at www.DiscoverOhio.com.

This year's 164-page, full-color, Ohio Travel Planner includes several upgrades including a larger, more user-friendly map; shorter editorial pieces showcasing Ohio's tourism experiences; and expanded overviews of each of Ohio's five geographic tourism regions along with more than 3,000 listings for Ohio tourism attractions, restaurants and accommodations.

"The 2010 Ohio Travel Planner provides a wealth of entertaining, affordable travel ideas close to home, yet away from it all, and is perfect for families, empty nesters, young professionals and multigenerational travelers looking for their next getaway experience," said Ohio Tourism Director Amir Eylon.

The 68-page, full-color, 2010 Spring/Summer Ohio Calendar of Events contains listings for more than 700 events, festivals, shows, concerts and more taking place between March and August. All events are color-coded by geographic area and listed in chronological order for ease of use.

A list of driving distances, airport information and important travel phone numbers and Web sites makes navigating through Ohio easier than ever. The Calendar of Events also features a schedule of 2010 county and independent fairs and listing of Ohio visitor bureaus/chambers of commerce for additional travel information.

Free Ohio travel materials, including the 2010 Ohio Travel Planner and 2010 Spring/Summer Ohio Calendar of Events, may be requested 24-hours a day, seven days a week, from
www.DiscoverOhio.com or 1-800-BUCKEYE. This year, the Travel Planner also is being distributed by Ohio State Parks, the Ohio Turnpike Commission, Ohio visitor bureaus and Ohio Department of Transportation Travel Information Centers.
