LT. GOVERNOR VISITS WELLSTON TO ANNOUNCE DEVELOPMENT GRANT

Lieutenant Governor Bruce Johnson appeared at the Wellston Train Depot today to announce a $460,000 grant to stimulate local businesses located along Ohio Avenue in Wellston through the Industrial Site Improvement Fund (ISIF). The Lieutenant Governor was joined by state Sen. John Carey and Rep. Clyde Evans in making the announcement.
“It brings me great pleasure to join with local business leaders to make this announcement today,†said Johnson, who also serves as Director of the State Department of Development. “Public, private partnerships like this are the key to creating jobs and making Ohio’s business community stronger.â€
Jackson County will use the $460,000 ISIF grant to make improvements to businesses and properties in the historic downtown business district of the City of Wellston. Funds will also be used to create an access road in the Wellston Industrial Park. This approximately $552,000 project proposes to fund up to 12 business investment projects in Wellston.
