Office of Tax Incentives (OTI)

The Office of Grants and Tax Incentives administers the Roadwork Development (629) and Rapid Outreach Grant.  Grants require a job creation and/or retention component. Contact the office of Business Development to apply.

Roadwork Development (629) Account: These grant funds are available for public roadway improvements, including engineering and design costs. This fund is available for projects primarily involving manufacturing, R&D, high technology, corporate headquarters, and distribution activity. Grants are usually provided to the local jurisdiction and require local participation.

Rapid Outreach Grant: These grant funds are for on- or off- site infrastructure improvements, including water, sewer, road and rail improvements. This fund is for companies primarily engaged in manufacturing, R&D, high technology, corporate headquarters, and distribution. Given the demand for limited grant funds, qualified projects must involve substantial job creation or retention, and all other public and private sources of financing must be considered before the availability of Rapid Outreach funding is determined.

Contingency Grant: The Ohio Department of Development’s Contingency Program uses discretionary funds that are based on the relative impact of a project, relative job creation and/or retention, wages of jobs created and/or retained, new capital investment made at a project site and project location. Funding awards must be approved by the Director of the Department.
