Advanced Energy Program Investor Owned Electric Distribution Companies: Notices of Funding Available (NOFAs): The Ohio Department of Development’s (ODOD) Ohio Energy Office (OEO) is soliciting applications from interested and qualified applicants to implement distributed energy resources (DER) projects, including but not limited to industrial heat recovery, combined heat and power and landfill or biomass methane for electric generation. In accordance with Ohio Revised Code §4928.61-63, projects financed through the Energy Loan Fund (ELF) will be eligible to apply for incentive grants to cover a portion of the costs of eligible projects located in the area of Ohio served by the ELF. The area includes the service territories of the four investor-owned electric distribution companies listed in Section 1.5. Grant funds are limited. Qualifying applications will be funded until all funds for this DER grant fund are awarded. Eligible Projects Manufacturing Facilities' Energy Efficiency Notice of Funding Available (NOFA 07-04) The Ohio Department of Development’s (ODOD) Ohio Energy Office (OEO) is soliciting applications to implement energy efficiency projects in manufacturing facilities in Ohio. In accordance with Ohio Revised Code §4928.61-63, qualifying projects will be eligible to apply for grants to cover a portion of the costs of eligible projects located in the service territories of the four investor-owned electric distribution companies listed in Section 1.5. Incentive funds are limited, but qualifying applications will be funded until all of the funds for this manufacturing energy efficiency incentive program are awarded. Applicants will be required to have completed an EnVinta diagnostic assessment and contracted for follow-up activities promoting energy plan development and technical assessment utilizing certified EnVinta facilitators. Eligible Projects Renewable Energy Program Notice of Funding Available (NOFA 08-09) The Ohio Department of Development’s (ODOD) Ohio Energy Office (OEO) is seeking applications to implement renewable energy projects limited to solar electric, wind electric, and solar thermal systems for Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and Governmental entities in Ohio. In accordance with the authority provided the Director of the ODOD under Ohio Revised Code §4928.61-63, qualifying applicants will be eligible to apply for grant assistance to cover a portion of the costs of eligible projects located in the service territories of the four investor-owned electric distribution companies listed in Section 1.3. Grant funds are limited, but qualifying applications will be funded until all the funds for this Notice of Funding Available (NOFA) are awarded or the OEO determines the program no longer suits the best interest of Ohio’s energy plan. Residential Wind Energy Incentive (NOFA 09-02) The Ohio Department of Development’s (ODOD) Ohio Energy Office (OEO) is soliciting applications to implement wind electric systems for residential customers in Ohio. In accordance with the authority provided the Director of the ODOD under Ohio Revised Code §4928.61-63, qualifying applicants will be eligible to apply for grant assistance to cover a portion of the costs of eligible projects located in the service territories of the four investor-owned electric distribution companies listed in Section 1.3. Grant funds are limited, but qualifying applications will be funded until all the funds for this Notice of Funding Available (NOFA) are awarded or the OEO determines the program no longer suits the best interest of Ohio’s energy plan. Solar Thermal Energy Incentive for Residential Housing Units (NOFA 09-03) The Ohio Department of Development’s (ODOD) Ohio Energy Office (OEO) is soliciting applications to implement solar thermal energy projects on new construction and existing buildings for affordable and market rate residential housing units in Ohio as defined in Section 1.3. In accordance with the authority provided the Director of the ODOD under Ohio Revised Code §4928.61-63, qualifying applicants will be eligible to apply for grant assistance to cover a portion of the costs of eligible projects located in the service territories of the four investor-owned electric distribution companies listed in Section 1.3. To qualify for the Advanced Energy Grant Program, projects must be located in Ohio and in the service territories of one of the four participating electric distribution companies. The four companies are:
Distributed Energy Resources Notice of Funding Available (NOFA 07-01)
This initiative will focus on the utilization of DER clean burning technologies and DER renewable energy technologies. Projects from commercial, industrial, institutional and local government are eligible for funding under this NOFA.
This initiative will focus on the utilization of energy efficiency measures/technologies. A sample list of technologies is included as Appendix C. Manufacturing facilities in Ohio are eligible for funding under this NOFA.
