The generation and consumption of energy have large impacts on our daily lives, our economies, and our environment. Proper energy planning and regulation helps to ensure that energy prices remain low, resources are managed properly, negative impacts are minimized, and positive impacts are maximized. This page contains a number of documents that introduce aspects of energy policy and its impact on Ohio.
This report compiles background information and policy options generated during the 2006 Ohio Energy Summit, cosponsored by Senator George Voinovich and the Ohio University, and subsequent follow-up focus groups. Topics covered in this report include fossil fuel and nuclear power, transportation, sustainable development, clean alternative energy technologies, and energy education.
This issue briefing was drafted for the 2005 Ohio Grantmakers Forum annual meeting and provides an overview of energy generation, usage, impacts and alternatives available in Ohio. Current Ohio energy policies and state agencies involved in energy issue are also included.
